America’s Boating Club Membership Options
America’s Boating Club® offers two types of membership:
Individual Membership: For a single person.
Family Membership: Includes you, your spouse or partner, and all children living in your household.
Why Join?
No Boat Required – You don’t need to own a boat to be part of the fun. Many of our members no longer have one or never did. Our events are just as active on land as they are on the water, with plenty of opportunities to join in by car or ferry.
Engaging Monthly Meetings – From January through June and again September to December, we host monthly dinner meetings with interesting guest speakers on boating, safety, and local interest topics. Meals are catered at a nominal cost, and attendance is never required.
On-Water Adventures – Enjoy summer picnics at favorite boating destinations, as well as cruises and rendezvous with fellow members. Whether you’re a captain or simply a passenger, you’ll be welcomed aboard.
“Boating is what brings us together, but it’s the camaraderie, encouragement, and shared experiences that make people stay for life. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or brand new to the water, you’ll always find guidance and lasting connections here.”
— James M. Milton-
Club Commander
Associate Memberships – After joining, you can also become an associate member of nearby squadrons for a small fee. This opens the door to even more events, cruises, and friendships across Long Island.
Intangible Benefits – Beyond the classes and events, there’s an incredible wealth of shared knowledge in our membership. Chances are someone has faced the same boating challenge you have, owns or has owned your type of boat, and can offer first-hand advice. Whether it’s docking techniques, changing manifolds and risers, or plotting a tricky course, our members have “been there and done that” and are always willing to lend a hand. The friendships and support you’ll find here often become just as valuable as the boating itself.
No Minimum Requirements – Participation is always up to you. Be as active or as casual as you’d like—there are no mandatory events or service requirements.
Part of a Bigger Family – By joining America’s Boating Club of Great South Bay, you also become part of The United States Power Squadrons®, America’s Boating Club®, and America’s Boating Club of Long Island. National and district dues are already included in your membership.
Simple Membership Process – Applications are reviewed and processed quickly by our Membership Committee. Once approved, you’ll be granted Active Member status.
If for any reason your application isn’t accepted, your dues will be refunded in full within 72 hours.
